I have FIOS internet service through Verizon and an Actiontec wireless router. When I went to make some changes to the routers config the other day I found that Verizon had quietly replaced the standard firmware with a customized Verizon version. It scares me that they can get into my router and make changes without me knowing. It seems sneaky, underhanded and makes me wonder what else they are doing. I think I’ll upgrade the firmware and see if I can disable their remote access.

So, why is my cordless phone designed like a 2×4? These type of flat phones are probably easy to built but, don’t sit in a comfortable way against a humans face.  Remember the humans?, those funny creatures that use your products?  Anyway, do you remember the old black Bell phones?
They were so comfortable to use; they sat comfortablly against your ear and chin, and had the grip away from your cheek.  Why are we ignoring our senses? The senses that says, “a cordless phone shaped like a piece of oak is not comfortable against a curved human face.” Not only is this design uncomfortable, but it sits against our skin, collects dirt, oils, and breeds bacteria.
