Outlook connected to a cloud exchange service through Intermedia. What I tried to fix the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Disabled graphics hardware acceleration (this worked for a few days)<br \/>\nChecked and disabled the Norton spam plugin<br \/>\nDisabled any non essential Outlook plugins<br \/>\nStarted Outlook in safe mode<br \/>\nCheck the firewall settings<br \/>\nAdded a line to the Windows hosts file for the auto-discover exchange server<br \/>\nDisabled and enabled cached exchange mode (left it on cached)<br \/>\nDeleted and re-created the profile<br \/>\nRestored exchange to default settings<br \/>\nRe-created exchange accounts in Outlook<br \/>\nCompletely uninstalled Microsoft Office and re-installed<\/p>\n<p><strong>A trick to get Outlook to open faster<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Disable the internet, or block Outlook from accessing the internet with the firewall, then open Outlook.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What finally fixed the problem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Disabled ipv6 in network settings<br \/>\nSet static DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (googles name servers)<\/p>\n<p>The start time is around 30 seconds compared to 5 minutes<\/p>\n<p>For the web spiders: SOLVED, solution, fixed, resolved<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is a Windows 10 pro workstations with Outlook 2016 This was a frustrating and time consuming problem.
